Upcoming: 2D Platformer v2.0.3


It’s soon weekend again, a new weekend of course. Well the past days I’ve thinking of what things to add to the game while I continue to learn about GDScript (Similar to Python) and the program itself, Godot, but I’ll be talking about what’s coming up next in the new v2.0.3 update.


Optimization

Yes that’s right! Optimized code and files is the key to a great game without major performance issues. What has been cursing this project for so long  is due to its massive size and I found out the root cause to the problem, and that’s the music files I’ve used. They’re high in file size but with optimization will most likely bring it down to a lower size.

World

Alright I know what you might be thinking. What’s the point of this game? I know. It’s basically a game where I learn and develop at the same time and show those things to the players. You might have realized there’s new things to the map. There’ll be more things than that of course. I thought of adding simple enemies that’ll hunt you down, and of course with functioning gravity for the enemy as well and simple nodemesh.
